Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, a date of birth, or any other term you type into a search box on this site goes directly to the outside company that operates that tool. That company handles the request and returns the results. Nothing you type is stored or logged on our side.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you write to us, we keep the message so that we can answer it, and it stays inside our own group. We do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers record technical details each time a page loads, in the same way most websites do.
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you are on and its version number
- The type of device and operating system in use
- The pages you opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The site that referred you here, when there is one
- A timestamp for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site places cookies, which are small files saved on your device, so we can see how visitors move through the pages and which ones get the most attention. Analytics providers help us combine that traffic into summary figures. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though a few parts of the site may not behave the same way if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keep the site online, stable, and quick to load
- Route your search request to the right partner service
- See which pages are useful and which need revision
- Find and repair technical faults
- Display advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
We do not host, maintain, assemble, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. What we publish is general guidance about where St. Landry Parish warrant records are kept and how to check them through the Clerk of Court, the district and city courts, and the Sheriff's Office.
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is turned into a consumer report or a file about any third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site are run by outside companies. Anything you enter there is handled under that partner's own privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide how long they keep data and who they share it with, and we have no say in it. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to sheriff's office pages, court portals, state agencies, legal aid organizations, and outside search services. Following any of those links takes you off this site, and the receiving site's privacy policy then governs your visit. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across websites in order to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information can reach the following parties, though.
- Search partners that handle the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Law enforcement or government offices when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices for the data we collect. No internet service is completely safe, though. We take reasonable steps to protect what we hold, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, tell us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Louisiana law gives the public a right of access to records held by public bodies under the Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq., with exceptions written into the statute. That law governs records held by government offices, not personal data held by a private website. For this site, you may at any time:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Some of these requests are limited by the records we are required to keep or by a legal obligation that applies to a particular message.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. When it does, the revised version appears on this page under a new effective date, so check back if you want to follow how we handle information.
